Penny Leigh and Dale McElrath's liver flat-coated retriever, Bond, finished his conformation championship at the Charleston dog shows last weekend. Bond was breeder-owner-handled by Dale and earned all his points from the Puppy and Bred-by classes, meaning he earned another bred-by medallion from the AKC for Penny and Dale.

Also this past weekend, Penny's border collie, June, earned a new best time for herself and her team at the Doggone Fast flyball tournament in Raleigh. June ran five 3.7 second heats over the course of the weekend, with her best being a 3.72. June's team won first place in the Open 1 Division at the tournament. Luke, another of Penny's border collies, ran on the Regular Division 1 team and they also won first place in that division. Both June and Luke compete with Fur Fun, the Region 15 championship team for 2008!
