Marlow is a very special girl to Jenny. Knowing her registered name Ableaim Meant To Be, and the meaning behind it will give people a little insight on the special bond these two share. Marlow's birth date, August 4th is tragically the same day another beloved Whippet lost her life. JuJu, a flashy brindle and white, with an attitude bigger than her actual size was sadly hit and killed by a car a year to the day prior to Marlow's birth. When JuJu's owners called to give Jenny the news it seemed the world would end. Many sad months followed, Jenny's interest in showing her dogs dwindled. The birth of Marlow's litter was exciting, all the pups were healthy and there were even a couple of brindle and white females in the litter. As the litter thrived and the pups started to show their individual personalities, one little female showed a similar SPARK - an attitude we seek in a show dog!! Perhaps this little spark plug knew Jenny needed comforting - maybe she was just pushy - maybe she was just extra friendly or maybe she was MEANT TO BE -- meant to be the one to brighten the day, erase the sadness and spark the enthusiasm. Whatever it was we knew she was here to stay. The fact that she is also a flashy brindle and white with ATTITUDE to spare makes it a bit ironic.
Marlow loves life and does whatever activity Jenny decides to try their paws at! Currently Marlow has the 5 point major toward her championship and has earned her Junior Courser (JC) title.
At the Southern Specialty in Atlanta, Marlow was shown in the 9-12 month old Puppy class and ended up not only winning her class - she went on to Winners Bitch and then Best Of Breed and defeated 90+ other Whippets this day including all the Champions. This win gave Marlow her first AKC championship points - a 5 point major!!!
Marlow and Jenny are competing in Open Coursing now. Marlow has completed her Senior Coursing title and earned a 5 point major toward her AKC Field Championship.
In addition, Marlow and Jenny are training to compete in agility and Marlow shows much talent and enthusiasm for this sport as well!!
Meant to be??? Indeed!!
